THE CURATION (INGREDIENTS)
24 Servings

2 (8-ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 1/4 cups white sugar, divided
2tbsp lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg, yolk and whites separated
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

THE PROCESS (INSTRUCTIONS)

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter.
  2. Open one can of crescent rolls and unroll it on the prepared pan. Press the dough down and set aside.
  3. Stir cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, lemon juice, vanilla and egg yolk together in a medium bowl until smooth and well mixed. Spread over the crescent dough in prepared pan.
  4. Open and unroll second can of crescent rolls and lay it carefully on top of the cream cheese mixture without pressing down.
  5. Using a pastry brush, spread egg whites all over the top of the dough.
  6. Combine remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle evenly on top.
  7. Bake until the top is a deep golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
  8. Let cool and cut into 24 squares.
  9. Enjoy!

TIPS AND NOTES

  • Try spreading some fruit preserves on top of the cream cheese mixture to shake it up a little bit (if you choose this route, be mindful of the extra sugar).
